Job Description

We are currently looking for an individual to join our team of accountants and bookkeepers to perform general office duties and provide some basic support to users of our accounting system. This is a flexible part time position based out of our North Vancouver office. There is also potential for the role to run into full time based on business needs.

Our staff gets involved in a variety of assignments which provide an opportunity for growth and to obtain invaluable experience.

Job Description

Our outsourced accounting business has an opening for an experienced accounting or bookkeeping staff member. We are growing and require persons with full cycle accounting experience. Preference will be given to those with a wide variety of experience and to those with public practice accounting experience as well as extensive experience with Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online.

Role Responsibilities

  • Communicate directly and manage relationships with multiple clients about their books; correspond with other individuals involved in the bookkeeping process as required

  • Taking on the occasional shoebox, getting it organized, and setting up clients to be successful using cloud based tools

About You

  • Some formal education in business, accounting, or finance
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting practices
  • 2+ years of related experience working in a public practice or in an accounting environment
  • An accounting designation (e.g. CPA), or current enrolment in the CPA program, would be an asset
  • Comfortable working with cloud accounting applications (such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage Accounting)
  • Bonus points if you have experience migrating from desktop accounting software to cloud based software
  • You hold yourself to high standards, especially when it comes to accuracy, attention to detail and providing excellent client service
  • You are organized, efficient, and able to manage time constraints and perform within established budget parameters
  • You are confident in embracing new technology platforms to solve client issues.
