How Ledgersonline Came to Be... 

LedgersOnline was founded in 2002 by Wayne Zielke, a Chartered Accountant While working tirelessly during one long night at the peak of tax season Wayne a master at creative tax planning and former biochemist (whom had attained a degree in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia long before he completed his CA) had a "light bulb moment". Wayne was on the cusp of developing the blueprint for a system that would revolutionize the often tedious and time consuming task of book keeping. This service would provide clean and concise financial data for his clients to their accountants and financial partners. Wayne assembled a team of financial and technology professionals to create “Online Accounting and bookkeeping solutions" to assist small-to-medium enterprises — providing streamlined efficiency with cost and time-saving processes.

Wayne Zielke conceived and launched LedgersOnline with insight gained from experience including:

• A CICA in-depth Taxation course, a two-year post CA program
• Articling at Deloitte and Touche
• Years public accounting firms dedicated to serving entreprenuers

It was during those years with entreprenuers that Zielke’s focus turned to small- to mid-size businesses and early stage high-tech companies.

In 1987, Wayne established his own CA firm where he has spent years building and running a successful CA firm in North Vancouver, BC. The firm has a strong focus on consulting in the high tech industry with special emphasis on creative business advice and tax planning.

During the last ten years Wayne has played an instrumental role in the creation of a TSX Venture Exchange listed high-tech firm. He has seen companies go from inception through early venture capital financing to becoming publicly listed. He has assisted with their business development in all aspects, including numerous creative financing.

LedgersOnline focuses this experience on the practical day-to-day financial management considerations of most small- to mid-size companies. It all starts with keeping an orderly set of books That’s the bottom line — coupling technology with service.
